The 17 year old Penn Yan Academy student arrested in April for posting a Snapchat referencing the Columbine school shootings from 1999 faces up to 7 years in prison after pleading guilty to a felony charge of making a terroristic threat.
On April 19th, Garrett Wawrzyk posted a video of himself dressed in all black with what appeared to be a gun with the caption “Eric Harris v2.” Harris was one of two shooters responsible for the Columbine massacre. An investigation by the Yates County Sheriff’s Office and School Resource Jeff Stewart determined the gun in the post was an airsoft gun. Wawrzyk was banned from school and police did take a shotgun found at the residence.
Wawrzyk, who is being tutored at home during his senior year, will be sentenced November 15th
