Week 3 in high school football got underway Friday night, with a Fingerlakes Radio Group tripleheader. In a game you heard on WGVA, Geneva blanked Midlakes, 42-0; in a game you heard on WAUB, Auburn fell to Union-Endicott, 55-29; and in a game you heard on WFLR, ER/Gananda dropped Penn Yan, 49-36. Elsewhere, Canandaigua bested Eastridge, 31-21; Victor crushed Churchville-Chili, 42-13; Red Jacket coasted by Clyde-Savannah, 40-24; Wayne wasted Pal-Mac, 48-0; Waterloo nailed Newark, 26-6; General Brown pounded Port Byron/Union Springs, 68-6; Jordan-Elbridge smacked Oswego, 53-16; Weedsport wailed on Morrisville-Eaton, 54-22; and Frankfort-Schuyler topped Cato-Meridian, 35-14. In girls soccer, Bishop Grimes clobbered Cato-Meridian, 6-0; Romulus ran over Hammondsport, 3-0; Gananda got by Red Creek, 2-0; Rush-Henrietta clipped Canandaigua, 6-0; and Victor upended Churchville-Chili, 3-1.
On the boys’ side, Pal-Mac all over Newark, 7-0; Edison and Bloomfield played to a 3-3 draw; Drden drilled Bradford, 7-2; Sodus smashed Red Creek, 5-2; Williamson shutout ER, 3-0; and Bishop Grimes bashed Cato-Meridian, 5-1.
In mens’ college soccer, Potsdam eked by Hobart, 2-1; while in field hockey, U of R creamed Keuka, 10-0.
