Governor Andrew Cuomo easily defeated his Democratic primary challenger Cynthia Nixon Thursday 66.5% to 33.5% to win his party’s nomination for a third term.
It was a nasty campaign by both camps, and it continued when the Sex and the City star addressed her supporters in Brooklyn.
Cuomo will face Marc Molinaro, the Republican nominee, and Independent Stephanie Miner in November. Kathy Hochul wins the Democratic nomination for Lieutenant Governor over Jumaane Williams. Letitia James won the four candidate reace in the Democratic primary for New York Attorney General. She will now face Keith Wofford, the Republican and Conservative Party nominee.
Silvio Palermo defeated Bob Green 54-46% for the Republican nomination for Ontario County sheriff. Palermo will take on Democrat Kevin Henderson November 6th.
Kitty Karle defeats Edward “Russ” Kenyon for Republican (54-46%) and Reform party (64-36%) nominations for Ontario County Judge.
Amanda Kirchgessner defeated Michael Lausell, Schuyler County Legislator, to become the Democratic candidate for State Senator in New York’s 58th District. She will now face State Senator Tom O’Mara in November.
Jackie Sherry defeated Margaret Reston in the Conservative; Democrat; Independence; Reform; and Republican party primaries for Canandaigua City Court Judge.
For Seneca County Judge, David Ettman won the Democratic and Green party nominations. Barry Porsch won the Republican nomination and Donna Kathy picked up victories in the Conservative, Independence and Reform elections.
Marjorie Byrnes projected to defeat Joe Errigo in Republican primary for NYS 133rd Assembly District
In Chemung County’s 4th District, Joe Brennan defeated Michael Printup, President of Watkins Glen International, to become the Republican candidate.
