The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff: Welfare Fraud Investigation Unit in conjunction with the Wayne County Department of Social Services reports the arrest of 49 year old Amy Carroll, of Clyde, for Offering a False Instrument for Filing, Welfare Fraud, and Petit Larceny. It is alleged that Carroll was a recipient of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Benefits between 08/01/2017 and 01/31/2018.
During this time frame, Edmonds was working for So Gone Trash Removal and failed to notify the Wayne County Department of Social Services of her income. Furthermore, Carroll submitted a Periodic Report to the Wayne County Department of Social Services on which she failed to declare this income. As a result, Carroll fraudulently received $496.00 worth of SNAP benefits.
Carroll was issued an appearance ticket and released. Carroll is to appear before the Town of Lyons Court at a later date to answer to the charges
