An investigation by the Wayne County Department of Social Services has resulted in the arrest of a 26 year old Newark man.
It is alleged that Matthew Edmonds was a recipient of SNAP and public assistance benefits between February 1st and April 30th of 2017 that he was not entitled to. Investigators alleged Edmonds was working for the Wayne County Action Program and failed to notify the county’s DSS of his income. As a result, Edmonds fraudulently received $1,080 work of Public Assistance Benefits and $194 worth of SNAP benefits.
Edmonds was issued an appearance ticket and released.
