Curtis D. Howell Sr. passed away on Sunday (September 2, 2018) at Clifton Springs Hospital.
Calling hours will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 8) at the R.A. Patrick Funeral Home, 26 West Main Street, Clifton Springs. A celebration of Curtis’s life will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Phelps American Legion, Newark VFW or the House of John in Curtis’s memory.
Curtis was born May 26, 1925 in Huntington, W.V. the son of the late John and Nannie Howell. He served in the Navy during WWII. Curtis did tours in both the Pacific and Atlantic campaigns. He worked for 41 years as a truck driver for North American Van Lines. Curtis was a member of the Phelps American Legion and the Newark VFW.
Curtis was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be sadly missed.
Curtis is survived by his children Curtis (Barbra) Howell Jr. and Debbie (Steve) Close; many grandchildren; several great grandchildren; dear friends Kenny (Wendy) Copello and Sue Coats.
Curtis is predeceased by his wife, Alice; daughter, Judy Wallace; and two granddaughters.
