Students in the Finger Lakes are back to school this week and that means school buses are back on area roadways. Triple A’s Lindsay Kensy says motorists need to be aware of not only buses but walkers as well.
When a school bus stops and displays its flashing red lights, all motorists approaching from either direction must come to a full stop.
There are stiff penalties for passing a stopped school bus when the red lights are flashing. A first offense can result in a fine of up to $400 and five “points” on your license.
