An 18 year old Waterloo man faces multiple charges following a two car accident on State Route 96 Tuesday night.
44 year old Karen Lavoski, of Clifton Springs, was traveling north when her SUV was rear-ended by a car driven by Nathan Stenberg. Both vehicles then crossed the southbound lane and struck a drainage ditch before coming to rest in the yard of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Church, causing damage to the lawn. Stenberg’s car caught on fire, which was extinguished by the Waterloo Fire Department. Both cars were towed from the scene. An investigation revealed Stenberg was also involved in a property damage accident in the village of Waterloo just minutes before the accident on Route 96. The Waterloo Police Department is investigating that accident.
Sheriff’s Deputies charged Stenberg with Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Ability Impaired by the combined influence of drugs and alcohol, and Reckless Driving.
Deputies issued him tickets , and he is to appear in the Town of Waterloo court on October 12, 2018 at 3PM to answer the charges.
