A 23 year old Jerusalem man has been sentenced to 1-to-3 years in prison for a July 2016 two car accident in the town of Benton that seriously injured the other driver.
Evan Cota pleaded guilty to vehicular assault and driving while ability impaired by drugs. Cota admitted to running a stop sign on Ferguson Corners Road while under the influence of marijuana and striking a car driven by Richard Shaver, of Benton.
Shaver suffered permanent injuries from the crash and endured an extended stay at Strong Memorial Hospital. Cota suffered only minor injuries.
