The City of Auburn Municipal Utilities Department has launched a public information campaign to remind you that clogged sewer lines are preventable.
The ‘Wipes Clog Pipes’ campaign is a reminder that there are a number of commonly used household and personal use items that should be disposed of in the trash and not flushed down the toilet.
Municipal Utilities Director Seth Jensen tells Finger Lakes News Radio it doesn’t take much for a clog to develop in aging pipes.
He adds if you get a clog, you’d better be ready to open your wallet.
You can learn more and see the list of what should not go down the toilet at the city’s website.
