The heavy rains early Tuesday morning caused massive damage to homes and camps along Lower Lake Road in Lodi and Lodi Point State Park. Governor Cuomo surveyed the damage Tuesday morning.
State Emergency Management officials, State Fire Officials, Homeland Security, and the National Guard were called in to help county crews, NYSEG, and local crews begin the clean up.
It will take days to move the debris. Trees, mud, and stones were washed down hill and smashed cars, buildings and anything else in the way.
Residents were ordered out of their homes and it’s not know when they will be able to return.
Seneca County has an Emergency Services Team operating around the clock and police are guarding the area as a curfew is in effective until Wednesday.
