Flooding across the region prompted Governor Andrew Cuomo to issue a state of emergency for 14 counties including Schuyler, Yates, Seneca, Wayne, and Ontario until August 21st. The Governor made the declaration shortly after touring the flood damage in Lodi Tuesday morning.
We spoke with Schuyler County Sheriff Bill Yessman late Tuesday afternoon and he provided us with this update.
Sheriff Yessman added there had been no reports of injuries.
Congressman Tom Reed said he had been monitoring the situation and spoke with Schuyler County officials.
The American Red Cross has established a shelter at the Watkins Glen field house.
