Joan Romano, 85, died Wednesday (August 8, 2018) at the Newark Manor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph the Worker, St. John’s Church, 114 Sodus St in Clyde. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
Joan was born on November 27, 1932 in Tyre, the daughter of Mertin and Maude O’Connor Wright. She was a Devoted Communicant of St. John’s Church. Joan was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She had been a member of the Clyde Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Joan worked for the Newark Developmental Center where she was a Direct Care Aide.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 43 DeZeng St., Clyde, NY 14433.
She is survived by four children Marie Carr of Clyde, Joseph (Colleen) Romano of Cayuga, Michael Romano of Clyde, and Rebecca (Warren) Camp of Louisiana; ten grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; two brothers Donald (Cheryl) Wright of Wolcott and Robert (Deborah) Wright of Savannah.
Joan was predeceased by her husbands Robert Meeks in 1954 and Thomas Romano in 1986; a son, Robert Meeks in 2000; brother, Earl Wright; and two sisters Shirley Lyman and Betty Gladis.
