As the new school year quickly nears, officials with the Auburn School District have decided to employ a new tactic in its ongoing funding battle with the state.
Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo said on Tuesday’s Finger Lakes Morning News Gov. Cuomo has thrown his support behind the City of Auburn, and his hopeful he’ll finally do the same for the city’s schools.
Meanwhile, the funding from the Smart Schools initiative is being put to good use.
Pirozzolo added the smart classrooms in the elementary schools will be ready for the first day of classes, with the work at the junior high and high schools continuing during the school year.
