A state parole board could decide soon on whether a woman convicted of murdering her husband inside their Cayuga Lake cottage in 1991 will be released from prison.
Laurie Kellogg, now 54 years old, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison in 1992 in the death of her husband, Bruce Kellogg, as prosecutors say she drove 4 teenagers to their Romulus cottage, where one of the teens, Denver McDowell, shot Bruce to death on the couch.
The case made national headlines, and was even made into a TV movie.
Spectrum News reports Kellogg will appear before the state Parole Board shortly, though the exact date has not been released.
A State Supreme Court judge had ordered Kellogg’s release in March of last year, but the Parole Board appealed, saying Kellogg never showed remorse for the killing.
