The former owner of a Penn Yan bar looks to be headed to trial on charges of criminal sex act, attempted rape, and sexual abuse of two women.
Yates County District Attorney Todd Casella tells the Finger Lakes Times January 14th is the date set in the trial for Robert Champlin. Penn Yan police arrested Champlin after videos were circulated on social media of him allegedly having sexual contact with two women who were passed out at his bar, Lloyd’s Limited.
The top charges carry a penalty of 25-years in prison. Champlin rejected a plea deal earlier this year that would have seen him plead guilty to sexual abuse and serve no more than 3-years in prison and 10-years on parole.
