A Corning police officer was injured early Sunday morning after a physical altercation with a 16 year old teen.
Officers were checking on a noise complaint when they saw a person walking in the road and checking the door handles of cars parked in the area around 1 o’clock. As officers attempted to talk with Tyleef Dunham, he walked away. When he did stop, Durham refused to provide his name or any identification. He was then arrested for failure to cooperate. As officers attempted to take Durham into custody, the 6’2, 230 pound teen physically resisted and fought with the officers. During the altercation, one officer was knocked to the ground and hit his head, injuring him. He was treated at Corning Hospital and released.
Durham is jailed on charges of assault, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and violating Corning City curfew
