State Police in Auburn arrested three people following a stabbing on Tuesday.
Troopers responded to a 9-1-1 call for a man who had been stabbed at a residence on Emily Drive in the Town of Aurelius. Further investigation revealed that the incident actually occurred at a residence on North Division Street in the Town of Throop.
30-year old Jorge Sanchez of Auburn was arrested after allegedly stabbing his brother, 23-year old Alex Baez in the stomach with a knife. Baez was treated for a minor stab wound at Auburn Community Hospital and subsequent to his release, he was charged with Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Troopers also arrested Sanchez’s girlfriend, 23-year old Louise Partin of Auburn after investigators determined she provided false information regarding the stabbing.
Sanchez and Baez were both arraigned at the town of Throop Court. Sanchez was remanded to the Cayuga County Jail while Baez was released on his own recognizance to reappear at a later date. Partin was issued an appearance ticket to appear at the town of Throop Court at a later date.
The State Police were assisted in the investigation by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Department and Cayuga County Child Protective Services.
