The Cayuga County Legislature on Tuesday heard the details of the county’s draft shared services plan.
County Administrator J. Justin Woods said on Wednesday’s Finger Lakes Morning News the lawmakers generally liked what they heard in the proposals that are non-binding. He also admitted there has been opposition from some municipal leaders.
While communities can opt in or out of each of the specific proposals in the overall plan, Woods expects most of those who are against the plan will eventually change their minds.
You will have your chance next week to give your thoughts on the draft plan. Public meetings will be held at the Ira Municipal Office on July 31, the county building in Auburn on August 1 and Moravia Town Hall on August 2. All of the sessions begin at 4:00 pm.
