An analysis of petitions submitted earlier this month by the three candidates for Seneca County Judge show, former Seneca County District Attorney Donna Cathy outpaced her opponents in terms of signatures personally collected.
As required by State Law, candidates must collect signatures from voters during a specified time frame in order to appear on the ballot this fall. The three candidates for County Judge – Donna Cathy, Barry Porsch, and David Ettman – all submitted petitions to the Seneca County Board of Elections during the week of July 11th. Donna Cathy personally collected 583 signature, David Ettman collected 509 signatures and Barry Porsch collected 248 and a review of his publicly available campaign finance report also showed that he hired paid canvassers to collect signatures for him.
This year’s Primary Election is slated for September 13th. The General Election is set for November 6th. The seat is up for election this year due to the retirement of Judge Dennis Bender.
