236 cyclists flocked to Hammondsport last Saturday to ride the scenic routes of the Tour de Keuka presented by Five Star Bank, raising enough to provide 276,000 meals with the goal of raising $75,000.
“We are thrilled with the support the Tour de Keuka receives from the community,” said Natasha Thompson, President & CEO of the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. “We had so many fantastic riders and teams working hard to raise donations through their personal fundraising pages, and we encourage them to continue raising money to end hunger because the need still remains.”
Cyclists rode more than 12,000 miles on four routes, including the Marion Decker Farmers Insurance Century (100 miles) Ride, the Mengel Metzger Barr 60-mile Ride, the Steve Campbell Memorial 45-mile Around the Lake Ride, or the 16-mile Simmons-Rockwell Nissan Around the Town Ride.
Supporters can read riders’ stories and donate through August 8 to their fundraising campaigns through at www.TourDeKeuka.com.
