On July 22, State Troopers charged 51-year old Steven Coyne of Herkimer, New York for driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC greater than .08, unlawful possession of marijuana, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to dim head lights.
Coyne was stopped on State Route 5 in the Town of Sennett for failing to dim his head lights. He was found to be driving on a suspended license and was allegedly in possession of a smoking pipe containing marijuana and a baggie containing marijuana.
Coyne was placed under arrest after failing multiple standard field sobriety tests. He was transported to the Auburn barracks, where he provided a breath sample of .11.
Coyne was issued uniform traffic tickets and an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Sennett Court on August 8.
