A Corning mother is charged with endangering the welfare of a child after she allegedly left her 11-month old home alone for five hours while she was out at local bars.
Catlynn Empson was the passenger in a car pulled over for a traffic infraction. The driver of the car was allegedly driving with a blood alcohol content level of .18 or higher. When officers took Empson home to check on her child, she allegedly tried to deceive them and at one point, allegedly grabbed an officer and attempted to physically prevent him from checking on the child. Officers found the child sleeping in a small playpen.
Empson was also charged with obstructing governmental administration and unlawful possession of marijuana.
