New York state is now one of four states suing the federal government. Governor Andrew Cuomo today announced that the Republican-led tax overhaul that was passed last year, then signed into law by President Trump is “unconstitutional.” Cuomo addressed the issue in a conference call.
The State and Local Tax deduction, also known as SALT, was capped to 10-thousand dollars under the new federal law. Cuomo says it’s not what the Founding Fathers intended.
New Jersey, Connecticut, and Maryland are also suing the federal goverment over the new tax law.
