45-year old Charlie E. “Chuck” Andrus IV of Waterloo is the man shot and killed last Tuesday night in the apartment on Virginia Street in Waterloo. Andrus was the boyfriend of 50-year old Karen Zdunko who was shot and wounded in the ambush that also killed 53-Lori McConnell of Seneca Falls.
Fundraising efforts are underway for Karen’s medical bills and to purchase a headstone for Lori.
Calling hours and funeral services for both Andrus and McConnell will be held this week. Calling hours for Chuck Andrus will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 at the Mull Funeral home in Waterloo. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. Calling hours for Lori McConnell will be Tuesday 10 to noon at the Sanderson Funeral home in Seneca Falls. A private interment will be held in the St. Columbkille Cemetery.
48-year old Emerson “John” Tohafjian was in Waterloo Town Court late Friday afternoon were he pleaded not guilty to 2-counts of second degree murder.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, (July 17) at Mull Funeral Home, 113 Virginia Street, Waterloo. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 4 p.m.

Chuck was born on May 8, 1973 the son of Charlie E. and Diane J. Brownell Andrus III. Chuck worked as a flooring installer for the Carpenter’s Union #277 out of New York, NY. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
Chuck is survived by his sons Shawn and Hunter Andrus; his mother, Diane J. Buffone; step-father, Robert Buffone; brother, Robert J. (Lin) Buffone; a niece, Samantha and nephew, Zachery Buffone and his girlfriend, Karen Zdunko.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charlie E. III.
SENECA FALLS – Lori A. McConnell, 53, of Joanne Ave. passed away unexpectedly Wednesday (July 11, 2018).
Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon Tuesday (July 17) at the Sanderson-Moore Funeral Home, Inc. 32 State St. Seneca Falls. Private interment will be in St. Columbkille Cemetery.
Born in Seneca Falls the daughter of Richard and LaVonne Gillum McConnell on December 11, 1964. Lori spent most of her life in the Seneca County area. She enjoyed crafts and decorating.
She is survived by her mother, LaVonne (Richard) Taylor of Forest Port; a daughter, Lora (Andrew) Bennett of Waterloo; two sons Ryan L. VanDoren of Seneca Falls and Matthew R. (Ashlie) VanDoren of Seneca Falls; brothers Timothy Brock, Waterloo, Donald Brock, North Carolina and Ronald Brock of Ithaca; grandchildren Jordan, Logan, Gianna, Presley, Darin, Greysen, Cole, Landen, Gabe and Liv; several nieces and nephews.
