It’s official! The ribbon was cut Thursday afternoon to “officially” open the newly renovated Holiday Inn in downtown Auburn.
Corning-based Visions Hotels purchased the hotel property in 2016 and undertook a multi-million dollar top to bottom renovation project.
Hotel General Manager Steve McGuire tells Finger Lakes News Radio in addition to the new look, Visions brings a new commitment to the community as well as its guests.
While preparing for Thursday’s grand reopening, the hotel staff also were able to reach out and help Chapel House after it was suddenly forced to close the Franklin Av. homeless shelter on Tuesday as well as a tenant from the Thursday morning fire at a Washington Street apartment house.
In what may be a positive sign for the future of the hotel, McGuire announced the hotel was completely booked on Thursday night.
