Still no official word on the identity of the three people shot late Tuesday night at a Virginia Street residence in the village of Waterloo. Two of the victims were killed and the third has been released from the hospital. State Police Captain Barry Chase says the suspect in the triple shooting-double homicide, Emerson Tohafjian, remains hospitalized.
As we told you yesterday, Tohafijan was jailed twice last month on charges related to domestic violence, including a charge of forcible rape. He was bailed out by a relative on both occasions. District Attorney Barry Porsch said Tohafijan was scheduled to appear in Varick Town Court June 27th to answer charges stemming from his June 3rd arrest.
Troopers would not disclose if any of the victims in this investigation had any relationship with the suspect. The identity of the victims will not be released until the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office completed their autopsies.
