Mayor Richard C. DeVito, 85, of Washington St. died Sun. (July 8, 2018) at his home.
No prior calling hours. A funeral Mass will be held Thursday (July 12) at 1 p.m. at St. John’s Church (St. Joseph the Worker), Sodus St, Clyde. Entombment in St. John’s Mausoleum with military service.

Dick was born in Lyons April 17, 1933, son of Thomas and Mary DaPolito DeVito. Dick worked over 25 years for Xerox in Webster. He served as Mayor in Clyde for 2 terms, was a member of VFW & American Legion in Clyde, served in the Air Force in the Korean War, member of the Wayne Hills Country Club and named “Man of the Year” in Clyde, member of Sports Hall of Fame, active member of St. John’s where he served on the cemetery committees.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Tarnella “Tiny” C. (Marr) DeVito; two sons Brett (Wendy) of Palmyra, Mark of Clyde; daughter, Nicol (Matt) Carr of Clyde; two brothers Rodney (Barb) Iocco of Rochester, Michael Iocco of Clyde; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; family friend, Jack DaPolito; nieces and nephews.
