As soon as the announcement was made Monday night that President Trump was selecting D.C. Circuit Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh to replace retiring Justice Kennedy, protests broke out in front of the Supreme Court. One of the voices that wasted little time to express her displeasure in the pick was Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.
Senator Charles Schumer says he will oppose Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination with “everything I have.”
Congressman Tom Reed applauded the nomination saying “Judge Brett Kavanaugh elicits all the ideals of a spectacular Supreme Court Justice. He has demonstrated an exceptional legal understanding and commitment to the U.S. Constitution. I urge my colleagues in the Senate to confirm this highly-qualified and esteemed legal scholar to the U.S. Supreme Court.”
