The Elmira man found guilty of killing a Bronx woman in December 2016 was sentenced Monday to 25 years to life in prison by Chemung County Judge Christopher Baker.
40-year-old Kimani Meadows was found guilty of second-degree murder in May of shooting and killing 33-year-old Robyn Roper along Draht Hill Road in Elmira. Roper’s body was found in the road by a passing motorist. Meadows was also sentenced to 15 years behind bars on three criminal possession of a weapon convictions.
The sentences will be served concurrently, but consecutive to a 23-year prison term Meadows is already serving for a non-fatal December 2016 shooting that occurred one week after Roper’s murder, also in Elmira.
