Mrs. M. Jean Godkin, 95, of Geneva passed away on Tuesday (July 3, 2018) in the Living Center South.
There will be no prior calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday (July 10, 2018) in St. Stephen’s Church. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Center of Concern in Geneva or to the Geneva Free Library.
Jean was born in Fulton New York on April 1, 1923 to the late Lawrence and Marian E. McCrady Trask. She moved to Geneva with her new husband, Thomas C. Godkin on April 7, 1947. Jean was an avid bowler and held office in the NYS Women’s Bowling Association and the Finger Lakes Women’s Bowling Association. In 1960 she began a 20 plus year venture of teaching Junior Boys Bowling at the T & C Lanes and Sunset Bowl. She was elected to the NYS Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame in 1980. She wintered in Florida for 25 years. When in Geneva she volunteered at the Geneva General Hospital Lobby Shop and most recently at the Center of Concern Food Pantry. She was active until age of 92. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish.
She is survived by her two loving sons Michael (Gerri) Godkin of Geneva and Jeffrey (Evelyn) Godkin of Geneva; five grandchildren including her special one Ashley and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband, Tom in 1985.
