The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is looking to inform residents by partnering with a smartphone app.
MobilePatrol allows county residents to view detailed information on inmates, including mugshots and release dates, along with a detailed sex offender registry.
From the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office:
Wayne County Sheriff’s Office offers Mobile Patrol APP: Mobile Patrol is a smartphone app to help you be informed via social media. This smartphone app is FREE for you and your Sheriff’s Offices because of the previous association and work with Appriss on the VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday) and National Victim Notification Network. This is your app – created specifically for the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office to place your Sheriff’s Office on the cutting edge of communications to keep our community safe and informed. Currently, in New York State the Niagara and Wayne County Sheriff’s Offices are the first to use the Mobile Patrol app for crime prevention and information sharing to our communities.
Our community is changing the way we receive information. With the Mobile Patrol app, you have easy access to an impressive list of information and features. Users can view mugshots, names, addresses, intake and release dates, charges, and bail information. Users can also register for victim notification directly from the detail view of an inmate. The Mobile Patrol app is fully integrated into the nationwide VINE network, giving users automated notifications regarding offender status, transfers and releases, all through a simple in-app registration. Registered local sex offenders are listed on the Mobile Patrol app with mugshots, names, charges, and mapping so users can keep themselves and their children safe by being informed.
