A 77 year old Penn Yan man faces animal cruelty charges after the Ontario County Humane Society responded Monday morning to the report of a dog inside of a vehicle at the Clifton Springs Hospital parking lot.
Prior to the officer’s arrival, a hospital employee removed the dog, a 2 year old male Shar-pei mix named Mr. Rinkles, because he was in heat distress. The temperature inside the car was found to be over 120 degrees. The dog’s owner, Robert McKay, came back to the car about an hour later, and was ticketed.
Mr. Rinkles was taken to the Ontario County Humane Society.
