Power has been restored to all Wayne County NYSEG customers. The total number of NYSEG customers statewide without power is now at 1,989.
07/03/18 5am UPDATE:
New York State Electric and Gas Outage Central is now reporting 3,843 customers without power in 17 upstate counties. The most without power are in Wayne County where 1,628 customers in Lyons, Galen, and Arcadia are in the dark still this morning.
Schuyler County has 929 customers without power and Tompkins County has 506 customers without power.
Seneca County was the hardest hit Monday with almost 4,000 NYSEG customers losing their power for hours. As of this morning there are just 18-Seneca County NYSEG customers still waiting for the power to be restored.
Thunder and lighting storms moved across the Finger Lakes Region Monday afternoon causing the blackouts. No word yet on when all the power will be restored.
10:30 p.m. UPDATE:
5,207 NYSEG customers are still without power, including 77 in Seneca County, 928 in Schuyler County, 1,647 in Wayne County, and 1,064 in Steuben County.
More than 10,000 New York State Electric and Gas customers in upstate New York are in the dark because of a strong line of thunderstorms that moved through late Monday afternoon.
In the Finger Lakes, Seneca County was the hardest hit for NYSEG with 3,969 customers withour power as of 5pm.
Rochester Gas and electric reports over 700 customers are without power.
NYSEG expects the power to be restored by 8 p.m.
