The emergency management director for Seneca County is on paid administrative leave, but the county is offering few details. In an e-mail, County Manager John Sheppard says Melissa Taylor has been placed on leave pending an unspecified investigation.
Though the county isn’t saying much about why Taylor is on leave, or what the investigation is about, local officials tell FingerLakes1.com that it might relate to the Finance Department. Varick Supervisor Bob Hayssen says suggested that the ‘wrong person’ was escorted out of the County Office Building, and asserted that the investigation into Director Taylor was connected to the Finance Department.
While Taylor is out, officials say her job will be temporarily taken over by 911 Operations Director Brandi Godley and Deputy Emergency Management Director Tony DiGiovanni.
