Democratic Congressional candidates Dana Balter and Juanita Perez-Williams should know by Wednesday morning which of them will face two-term Republican Congressman John Katko in November. Tuesday is primary day for the Democratic candidates in the 24th Congressional District race.
Last week, former Oswego Mayor Tom Gillen and the Serve America PAC, a political action committee formed by an Iraq war veteran endorsed Perez-Williams.
The four county chairs in the 24th District accused the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee of meddling in the district race when the failed Syracuse mayoral candidate made the surprise announcement in April that she was attempting to get on the primary ballot to oppose Balter.
Balter, the Syracuse University professor, is the candidate of choice for most local grassroots party members.
