Auburn City Council on Thursday night approved change orders to the two big projects underway in the city.
An additional $101,000 is earmarked for new work on planned exhibits at the Equal Rights Heritage Center. City Clerk Chuck Mason said on Friday’s Finger Lakes Morning News the city wanted to be the lead agency in the cooperative project with the state.
Nearly $475,000 was approved for additional work on the Genesee Street paving project. Mason said the contractor is being proactive after finding the water and sewer lines under the road are in worse shape than expected.
City Manager Jeff Dygert said 95 percent of the change order for the Genesee project can be reimbursed by the state and federal governments.
