MaryJane Miller Hurrin, 92, of Penn Yan, N.Y., passed away on Tuesday (June 12) at The Homestead.
Her cremains will be interred at the Lakeview Cemetery in Penn Yan during a graveside service at 4 p.m. on June 23. Friends are welcome to join the family at the service, and afterward at 102 Garfield Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations of sympathy to the Penn Yan Volunteer Ambulance at 353 Main St.; Keuka Comfort Care Home, PO Box 107, or the United Methodist Church at 166 Main St., all in Penn Yan, NY, 14527.
Born March 19, 1926, to Julia Longcor and Edward Miller, MaryJane was the youngest of ten children Hazel, Pauline, Sarabelle, Josephine, Catherine, Jerome, Ray, Virginia and Evelyn. She was married to Walter L. Hurrin on November 17, 1951.
She is survived by children Jack (Gail) Hurrin, Henrietta, N.Y., Cynthia (Larry) Whitlock, Oak Hill, W.V., and Jeffrey Hurrin, Upper Montclair N.J.; grandchildren Debbie Wood, Henrietta, N.Y., Susan Fiske, Greece, N.Y., Jeff Whitlock, Elkins, W.V., and Laura Whitlock, Oak Hill, W.V.; great-grandchildren Greg (Kacy) Wood, Mitch Middlebrook, Shannon (Colton) Tinsmon; great-great grandchildren Carter and Brody Wood; she is also survived by nieces Melody Ellis and Doris Serrett, among other nieces and nephews.
Her husband, siblings and niece, Jean Schoen, preceded her in death.
MaryJane was blessed with devoted friends and dedicated health care providers. The family extends heartfelt appreciation to all who loved and cared for Mary.
