In Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League action, Newark fell to Glens Falls, 8-2. The Pilots will head to Mohawk Valley for a 6:45 tilt. The Geneva Red Wings, after an off day, travel to Elmira, a 3-2 loser to Amsterdam, for a 7:05 start.
In the IL, Rochester dropped one to Buffalo, 4-3, snapping a 2-game win streak. That series will resume in Buffalo at 6:05 tonight. Meanwhile, Syracuse were smoked by Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, 14-2, extending their losing skid to 7. The Chiefs will continue that road series at 7:05.
In MLB, the Yankees blanked Tampa Bay, 5-0; while the Mets were 7-3 losers to Arizona. The Yankees and Rays square off in a 1:05 matinee, while the Mets and D-backs play at 10:10.
Victor’s David Farrance has been named to the U.S.’s initial roster for the World Junior Summer Showcase. The 5’11”, 190 lb. defenseman is a prospect in the Nashville Predators organization.
