State GOP lawmakers say New York taxpayers deserve more accountability for the billions spent each year in economic growth, especially in light of failed projects. The Assembly’s Republican minority joined together Wednesday calling on Democrats to put to the floor for a vote two bills on government transparency. Assemblyman Bob Oaks said the Cuomo administration claimed it would be the most transparent in state history.
Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb says its time to send a message to the taxpayers of New York that “enough is enough.”
The two bills the Republican minority is asking for a vote on would make state contracting more transparent and allow for people to search online what companies are receiving tax breaks.
