It was a two-fer Tuesday for the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested 27-year old Nicholas Olenych of Syracuse after he allegedly broke into two homes in Marcellus. Deputies were sent to a home on South Street before a homeowner discovered a broken window when he arrived at his home on Bradley Street.
Olenych was found hiding in an upstairs closet in the house and was eventually tied in to the South Street burglary. He was arraigned in court and sent to the county jail.
While investigators were on the scene of the break-in at the residence on South Street, a Skaneateles woman slammed her car into the back of an unoccupied crime scene van.
42-year old Holly Laprade was allegedly drunk and texting at the time. She was not injured, but faces a number of charges including DWI and aggravated DWI.
