News this week that the Jordan Elbridge and Union Springs School Districts are among 49 statewide sharing in $34 Million in smart school investments makes them the latest schools in the Finger Lakes to begin closing the digital divide in the classroom.
Auburn Schools Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo tells Finger Lakes News Radio the city’s schools will be connected by September.
Teachers and students will see some big changes in the classrooms when they return after the summer break.
The Jordan Elbridge District receives $836 thousand, while the Union Springs District will use just over $526 thousand for upgrades to A.J. Smith Elementary School, which has been undergoing renovations since last fall.
