The cardiac kids did it again!
The Penn Yan Mustangs boys lacrosse team found themselves trailing 6 to 2 with 3 minutes to go in the first half of Wednesday’s Class D State Semifinal game against Chenango Forks at St. John Fisher. After a Colton Smith goal would make it 6 to 3, Smith would be on the given end of what would turn out to be a huge momentum goal for the Mustangs
Penn Yan’s Connor Fingar would score the first goal of the 2nd half to make it 6-5 Chenango Forks. Just two minutes later, senior Dylan Stape would bring us back to all even.
The Mustangs would then take the lead for good just over two minutes later.
Austin Blumbergs would score the next 3 goals of the game for Penn Yan as they out score Chenango Forks 8-1 from the 3 minute to go mark in the 2nd quarter on and the Mustangs win it 10-7. Penn Yan will play for the Class D state championship Saturday morning at 10 against Section One’s Pleasantville at St. John Fisher and of course, WFLR will be there live to bring you all the action.
