Two local school districts are among 49 statewide sharing in $34 Million in smart school investments announced Tuesday by Gov. Cuomo.
The Jordan Elbridge District receives $836,000, while the Union Springs District gets just over $526,000 for upgrades to A.J. Smith Elementary School, which has been undergoing renovations since last fall.
District Superintendent Dr. Jarett Powers tells Finger Lakes News Radio while the funding is appreciated, it was too long in coming.
Dr. Powers says the classrooms will be ready for students by the start of the new school year in September.
