The Seneca Falls Town Board tonight holds a public hearing on bonding for a $2.2 million dollar upgrade to the sanitary sewer system.
The plan is to increase the sewer lines along Route 414 from: the del Lago Resort & Casino, the Waterloo Premium Outlet Mall, and the Junius Thruway Service Area. Upgrading the Kingdom Road pump station will cost $15 million dollars, del Lago will cover that cost. Sewer lines would cross the Cayuga-Seneca Canal and possibly run along the Ludovico Scuplture Trail before getting to the town’s wastewater treatment plant. The Town Board voted last month to use an eminent domain procedure to take the Ludovico Sculpture Trail as the location of a new, larger sewer line.
The matter is awaiting state supreme court action.
