A 32-year-old Ithaca man accused of robbing two Tompkins County banks last winter pleaded guilty in court Monday.
Chaio Slater admitted to robbing the Tompkins Trust Company in Ithaca December 5th and the CFCU branch in Lansing January 17th. Police say in both incidents, Slater displayed what looked to be a black pistol and demanded money from bank tellers. It was later determined the black pistol was really a pellet gun.
Slater pleaded guilty to two felony counts of robbery and faces up to three-and-a-half years in state prison for each count.
