The Cayuga County Democratic Committee has endorsed David Thurston for Auburn City Court Judge. Thurston was appointed as a part-time judge by Auburn City Council in 2014.
In a statement, Democratic Party Chair Ian Phillips said, “We strongly believe that David Thurston is the most qualified and experienced candidate for the important job of City Court Judge. He will treat the office with the respect and dignity that it deserves.”
Thurston is a life-long resident of Auburn. He attended SUNY Binghamton and received his law degree from Syracuse University Law School.
Thurston thanked the Committee for its endorsement, stating, “I’m looking forward to going door-to-door and speaking to the residents of Auburn about my experience as a judge and my continued dedication to the Court.”
The seat is currently held by Democrat Michael McKeon, who is not seeking a third ten-year term.
