Frances C. Major, 95, formerly of Seneca Falls, N.Y., passed away on Wednesday (May 30, 2018) at Living Center South, Geneva, N.Y.
Funeral services and burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Skaneateles, N.Y. will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no prior calling hours.

Frances was born on August 26, 1922, to the late Clara Kennedy McGuire and Thomas McGuire. She was a graduate of Mynderse Academy. After graduating from high school, Frances worked in the office at Gould’s Pumps, Seneca Falls. She married Edward Major in 1956 and moved to Skaneateles Falls, N.Y. After the death of her husband in 1969, Frances moved back to Seneca Falls and worked for many years at Crayton’s Drug Store in the Kingdom Plaza. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church of Seneca Falls and a former member of the Seneca Falls/ Waterloo Knights of Columbus Auxiliary where she was one of the charter members.
She is survived by one daughter, Katherine “Kim” (Brian) DeVay, Seneca Falls, N.Y.; two sons Daniel (Cherie) Major, Auburn, N.Y., Peter (Teresa) Major, Brockport, N.Y.; one grandson, Ryan Edward DeVay, Seneca Falls, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Frances was predeceased by her husband, Edward Joseph Major, who died in 1969; her sister, Irene Maloy; her brother, Thomas McGuire, and her nephew, Thomas Maloy.
