The New York State Court of Appeals in Albany will hear suspended Rochester City Court Judge Leticia Astacio’s removal appeal hearing September 5th.
Back in April, the Commission on Judicial Conduct decided to remove Astacio from the bench after being placed on probation last summer after she was found guilty of violating the terms of her DWI sentence for the second time. She was convicted of DWI in August 2016. Astacio had 30 days to either accept or appeal the Commission’s ruling.
In appealing the decision, Astacio continues to receive her 187-THOUSAND dollar annual salary.
