City of Auburn officials hope the third time is the charm after the wraps were taken off the latest Downtown Revitalization Initiative bid at last night’s city council meeting.
Capital Projects Director Christina Selvek tells Finger Lakes News Radio the latest bid includes some projects from the past two bids and includes new plans for an arts district encompassing the area around the Seymour Public Library, the Schweinfurth Art Center and Cayuga Museum along Genesee Street.
Selvek added state officials have already taken notice of the bid’s ‘This Place Matters’ theme, which is a nod to May being National Historic Preservation Month
Auburn lost out to Oswego and Cortland in Gov. Cuomo’s first two Central New York DRI competitions.
